Message from the President

Dear HKICC Friends,

We had a great AGM on April 23d, and I'd really like to thank those of you who came and supported me in taking on my new position as President of HKICC.

Charlie Lang has done a great job over the last two years, and has increased the membership and moved the community forward. He has passed onto me a very healthy community, both financially and spiritually.

During the special meeting held just before the AGM on the 23rd of April, I had the opportunity to learn the needs of our diverse community. We discovered where our resources are most required, and in what areas we are still falling short of meeting the needs of the community.

We have now put together a new management team, who are committed to serving the community so that it may move in the direction of meeting the needs of all coaches, regardless of whether you are a new coach just starting out, or a seasoned coach with an established practice, whether you are a life coach, or a corporate coach, whether you are still undecided if you want to be a coach, or you are already in the process of educating yourself to qualify as one. And I hope the community can serve your needs, regardless of what language you speak, whether it be English, Cantonese, or any other language.

Please see our website (www.coachinghk.org) for the full list of our new management team. Together, over the coming years, we will continue to strive to be the support that the coaching community needs, and to be an organization that coaches are proud to be a part of.

There is still a lot of room for our coaching community to grow, within this society. Together, we can make the coaching culture accessible to a broader audience. For example, to our over-worked school teachers, so that they can be a greater source of inspiration to our future generations; to people who are affected by the current financial crisis; to people facing retirement, and are unsure of what this new stage of life will bring them; or those going through mid life crisis; or even single parents.

I am thankful to the community for the confidence you have placed in me to help lead our community towards the goals we have and will set for the coming years. Together, with the support of all of you, I look forward to taking the coaching community to new levels of development, growth and professionalism.
