What led you into coaching?
I witnessed the power of coaching when I attended a course on personal development 10 years ago. At that time, I learned about coaching and practiced coaching in my job. In 2006, when I decided to change my career from a social worker to a trainer and a coach, I took several coaching courses and studied various models, such as GROW Model, REN Model and IAC Masteries. I am now enjoying the journey of working towards IAC certification and I treasure the process very much: I’m experiencing a great improvement in my coaching skills, and I value the mutual support among the coaches in the IAC community. I feel passionate about promoting coaching to parents, and have a dream of promoting coaching to senior executives in social service organizations and teachers in schools.
Who do you typically coach?
I mainly coach parents in groups or conduct one on one coaching. I also coach young adults who are mature students and young employees.
Describe your favourite coaching tool or technique.
I like to apply Enneagram to identify the client’s fundamental pattern of thinking, feeling and behaving, and to communicate with the client according to his or her personality type.
Tell us something unique about your coaching style
I am sincere, authentic, mindful, and inspiring. I can easily build rapport with clients. I focus on assisting clients to look into their inner self for self discovery that can then lead to mind shifts and behavioral change. My strength is in supporting clients to determine their goals clearly and make sure they are on the right track.
What attracted you to HKICC?
The supportive, appreciative, open nature and acceptance of different cultures in HKICC attracted me to being a member for three years. I also enjoy the PD meetings which are always inspiring and offer the opportunity to learn from others in the coaching community.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
I can do what I like! I enjoy what I am doing everyday. I grow with my clients and the people I work with.
What are you reading ?
I currently read books on business networking. The one I am now reading is “Master on Networking” by Ivan Misner, as I am focusing on learning how to develop my coaching and training business. I also like reading books on spiritual development to expand myself these days.
What do you do for fun and relaxation?
I enjoy nature, reading, watching movies and chatting with friends. I also like to create time for self reflection.
