Message
from the
President

Dear HKICC Friends,
The term of the current management team of
HKICC is nearing its end. We invite you to
join our Annual General Meeting (stay tuned
for a separate announcement) on April
24 and contribute to the future
direction of our association.
I can't believe that the time passed by so
quickly, despite the recent progress we have
made in line with my mission as the
President of HKICC.

| Top 10 Ways to Delegate |
 |
|
Adapted by Carole Lewis from http://www.coachville.com
- Delegate outcomes, don't dump
problems.
- Only delegate to people you trust.
Period.
- Point out the consequences to the
company/yourself if what you're delegating is
NOT successfully managed.
- Delegate small pieces at first; then
more.
- Install a reporting system, so that
you can catch problems way before they become
a real problem.
- Ask the delegatee to develop the
milestones, midpoints and phases, even if you
already know what they should be.
- Don't delegate what should be
automated.
- Don't delegate what only you can do right.
- If you can't find good people to
delegate to, learn from
THAT.
- Spend triple the amount of time with
the delegatee than you think you
should.

| Corporate Coaching Culture - A New Map for a New Age |
 |
|
By Charlie Lang
Traditional corporate cultures based on
orders and obedience lead to increased staff
turnover and mediocre performance. What
worked in the Industrial Age is increasingly
becoming a liability for organizations in the
age of the knowledge worker or Information Age.

Certified Executive Coach and published
author, BA, Executive Style Limited
How did you enter the field of
coaching?
In 2003 I left behind my job as a corporate
trainer in the Netherlands and moved to the
USA with my husband. This was a turning
point in my life and career. I decided to
attend the New York University in order to
learn more about executive coaching. I
realized that being an experienced
communication and leadership trainer could be
a helpful asset to executive coaching. One
of my teachers inspired me to start my own
business; soon after, senior executives in
Fortune 500 companies were acknowledging and
appreciating the added value of my coaching
service.
In September 2007 I decided to move my
business to Hong Kong.

Tantra Workshops in
March
Tantra is a Sanskrit word meaning "weaving"
and "expansion," born in India 5,000 years
ago as a rebellion against the strict
moralistic codes of the Hindu religion.
Although the West is
fascinated with its sexual aspects, Tantra is
fundamentally about love, spirit and
energy. It's about saying "Yes" to
life, embracing all and rejecting nothing. We
have only to open our hearts more fully and
recognize the god and goddess within each of
us.
