  • HKCC Annual General Meeting 2004

HKCC held its second Annual General Meeting on January 26 to review past achievements and the financial status and to bring in the new Executive Committee.

    (Stop) Selling high-quality services

A few days ago, I had a conversation with someone who had just started her own coaching and training business. After leaving her job as an employee, she started selling a rather unique financial product to earn a living, while preparing to become a professional coach and subsequently getting her own company off the ground.

"I feel like a fish out of water when I try to sell this product to anyone. First of all, I don't have a very good background and understanding of financial products, so I'm scared that my potential clients will ask questions I won't be able to answer, making me appear incompetent. I am willing to study hard and learn the basics-except there is an even bigger problem. I don't like selling."

    I answered, "It's better if you don't."

She looked at me half-puzzled, half- hopeful. "What do you mean?"
