Message from the Executive VP

In the past few months I noticed an interesting and encouraging development at the Hong Kong International Coaching Community (HKICC): an increasing number of experienced executive and personal coaches seem to come back to our association.

Many of them have been members before and rejoined, others always have been members but somehow became inactive, i.e. did not show up at any HKICC meetings anymore. Initially, I wondered what made them come back – now I know: they see HKICC developing into a truly professional body for coaches that provides new opportunities for its members.

  • The Top 10: Tips For Reigniting Your Feminine Essence

    By Pia Muggerud

    1. Spend time alone, giving back to yourself. Listen to music, read a book or your favourite poetry.

    2. Work less and rest more. It is difficult, if not impossible, to be feminine and exhausted at the same time. Rest is a critical element in rejuvenating all aspects of our femininity.

    3. Engage in activities that give you physical pleasure; a massage or a bubble bath.

    4. Practice loving your body, regardless of its shape or size.

    5. Spend more time in female company; connecting, sharing, laughing or playing.

    Member Profile - Yee-Ming Tan

How did you hear about us?
Don’t remember. Although not a founding member, I joined very soon after the formation of HKCC.

What motivated you join our big family?
I wanted to know other coaches in Hong Kong. It was lonely working on my own all the time.

What is one quality which you think is essential to have as a Coach?
    Not judgmental.

Committee Member Profile – Summer Chan

    VP Research and Development, HKICC
Vice Chairman, Hong Kong Training Professionals Association
EXCO member and founder, New SOHO New Life Association
Currently completing PhD (Education) at Central China Normal University

What moved you to give your time so generously to HKICC?
I want to share experiences, skills, knowledge and learn from other coaches.  I am also keen to participate in activities which promote coaching.

What do you most like about the community?
It serves as a platform for young coaches and the atmosphere is very open.  People are always willing to help each other and share information.

    OUR WONDERFUL SPONSORS

    Dear all,

It’s always amusing and yet a tad disturbing when I hear people outside describe the lot of us here as rather “hippie-dippy” or think we are just a bunch of “tree-huggers”!  Honestly, that’s not true.  No one fits that description, not even remotely.  In fact, the members I have met thus far (alright, admittedly that’s not everybody!) are very serious about coaching as a profession and are also serious about proper training.  Most are established leaders and/or experts in their own right.  But I suppose it’s something we should bear in mind here and work towards changing.  With SK’s strong leadership and everyone’s relentless hard work, I believe that is achievable.
